Kirk Linton

Assistant Principal in Cochrane, AB, Canada. Former band teacher and 21st century learning leader. I completed my Masters in Education from the University of Lethbridge where I completed a major action research project in creating 21st century learning environments. I am interested in creating innovative professional learning that enables, empowers, and engages teachers to incorporate inquiry, technology, and formative assessment into thier practice. I am an advocate for creating opportunities for deep, authentic, and motivational learning for students. I have presented on the topic of 21st century learning and teacher leadership at the 21st Century Learning Leadership Forum 2011, the Alberta Initiative for School Improvement Conference 2011, and the Alberta Technology Leaders in Education Conference 2010. I am a lifelong student, a musician. a father of 2 very active boys, and (when I can find a spare moment) a blogger.
